Brevard Looks to Complete Season Sweep Against Maryville

BREVARD, N.C.- Brevard men's tennis will go on the road Wednesday afternoon in hopes to complete the season sweep of Maryville at 2:30 p.m.

In the last meeting between the two schools on March 13, Brevard (3-11) took the 6-3 team victory with singles wins from Tom Mittring, Tim Hengst, Will Christiansen and David Bumgarner, as well as doubles wins from the combination of Hengst/Mittring and Christiansen/Bumgarner. With the team win, the Tornados snapped a four-match losing streak and earned their first home win of the 2017-18 campaign.

Heading into the match on Wednesday, Brevard recently had its two-match winning streak come to a halt against Covenant in a 8-1 team decision. The lone win came from a singles match from Mittring, as he came out on top over Matthew Harvie 3-6, 7-6 (7-2), 1-0 (10-4).

Maryville (2-9) heads into the match coming off its first team win since March 10, as the Scots took down Berea 7-2 on the road.
