Brevard Set to Host Pfeiffer this Friday

BREVARD, N.C.- The Tornado tennis teams will host their second match of the week, this time against Pfeiffer on Friday afternoon. The match time has been moved to 12 p.m. due to the possibility of inclement weather that is in the forecast.

The men's match on Wednesday afternoon was highlighted by the doubles win from Tom Mittring and Tim Hengst beat the duo of Zachary Blythe and Henrique Leal from Belmont Abbey 8-6. On the women's side, Brevard's No. 1 seed Kelsey Kushner was in a back-and-forth battle with Darian DeFrench, but ultimately fell 7-5, 6-3.

Pfeiffer's men's team comes into the match 1-1 as a team, but will be playing their first match of the spring semester tomorrow afternoon. Bjorn Barwinski enters the match as the No. 1 seed for the Falcons, and picked up wins in the fall in a singles and doubles match against Montreat on Sept. 13th, 2017.

Much like the men's team, Pfeiffer's women's team will also be playing their first team match of 2018 and enter the match 0-3. The Falcons are led by Juliana Batah, who has picked up an individual win against Johnson C. Smith on Sept. 30th, 2017 and a doubles win against Converse on the same day.
