Brevard Tennis Set to Bounce Back Against Belmont Abbey

BREVARD, N.C.- The Brevard men's and women's tennis teams return to the courts on Valentine's Day when they host Belmont Abbey with both matches set to start at 10 a.m.

Junior Tom Mittring highlighted the last men's match against Southern Wesleyan on Feb. 3rd, as he picked up the 4-6, 6-4, 10-5 victory in the singles match against Urs Widow. On the women's side, Hannah Spear defeated Houston Childress 6-2, 6-4 and assisted Carmen Boone in a doubles match win against the combination of Childress and Caitlynn Nixon 9-8 (7-3).

Belmont Abbey's men's team comes into the match 3-4 on the season, as the team split their doubleheader on Feb. 6th by beating Augusta (6-3) but falling to Mars Hill (6-3). Individually, the Crusaders are led by sophomore Carlos Nolasco, who has compiled a 2-1 record on the season on his own.

On Belmont Abbey's women's team, the squad is 0-3 on the season, but the tandem of Riley Ellingson and Teagan McNamara were able to pick up a doubles win over Augusta.
