Tornados Drop Defensive Struggle at Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Brevard College men's soccer team (3-5-2, 3-2-2 USAS) dropped a USA South Conference road match to host Greensboro (8-5-1, 6-2-0 USAS), 1-0, on Saturday afternoon in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Greensboro won the low-scoring conference battle by scoring the match's lone goal, an unassisted strike by Darli Mihindou in the 47th minute.

Brevard had difficulty creating substantial offensive opportunities against a stout Greensboro defense. The Tornados attempted just five shots in the contest with no shots on goal.  The Tornados were held to just one shot in the first half, before attempting four shots in the second stanza.

Joao Monteiro and Matheus Masukawa each tallied two shots, while Lucas Campos recorded BC's only other shot.

In total, Greensboro outshot Brevard 12-5, to go along with a 10-7 advantage in corner kicks.

Senior goalkeeper Patrick Hall registered four saves to protect the net for the Tornados.

Brevard returns to action with the second of back-to-back conference road matches with a trip to Cary, North Carolina to take on William Peace University at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
