Brevard takes on Shaw in final match of the season

BREVARD, N.C.- Brevard men's soccer will host Shaw on Saturday afternoon for the chance to have a winning season for the first time since the program moved to the NCAA ranks in 2008.

The Tornados are riding a three-match winning streak, and have also won five out of their past six matches in the month of October to improve their record to 7-7 on the season.

In those five victories, Brevard has played tough defense, only allowing four goals and limiting opposing offenses to an average of 8.8 shots per match. Goalkeeper Patrick Hall has put up solid performances in his last five starts, recording 19 saves and has posted a .877 save percentage. On the season, Hall ranks third in the USA South Conference with a .793 save percentage.

On offense the Tornados have been relying on quick-strike attacks, led by Jesse Omezi with a team-high 12 points (five goals, two assists) on the season. Over the last five matches, Adam Spencer and Austin Wolfe have been key contributors on the offensive end of the field, as they have both recorded five total points (two goals, one assist each).

Shaw heads into the match 4-6-2 on the season, with their most recent loss coming in a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Barton. The Bears have a high-powered offense which has scored over six goals in a match three times this season, led by Thilo Wilke with 26 total points (12 goals, two assists) on the year.

The match is set to kick off at approximately 2:30 p.m. from Ives-Lemel Field.
