Brevard's soccer match against Piedmont postponed

BREVARD, N.C.- Brevard men's soccer match has rescheduled their soccer match against Piedmont to September 12.

The Tornados (1-1-0) head into the match coming off of their first victory of the season, a 4-1 downing of Huntingdon on September 9.

Freshman Jorge Jiminez sparked the Tornados offense to not only score the first goal of the season, but to record his first collegiate hat trick.

Brevard head coach Bob Winch says the key to the match will be fast offensive possessions.

"Our goal is to continue with quicker penetrating possessions," says Winch.

Brevard will be looking to get past Piedmont goalkeeper Elliot Sailes, who had a solid first outing by recording five saves in a 3-1 win over Bob Jones.

On Brevard's defensive end of the field, the Tornados will look to build on their own solid defensive performance against Huntingdon from their goalkeepers Patrick Hall and Hiroki Noguchi.

The Tornados and the Lions will kick off in Demorest, Ga. at 6 p.m.
