BREVARD, N.C. - The Brevard College Men's Lacrosse team (2-3, 0-1 USAS) fell in its USA South Conference 15-11 to Pfeiffer (2-2, 1-0 USA) on Saturday evening at Ives-Lemel Field.

Jackson McKaig led the Tornados offensively with five goals.  Sean Pratt and Jack Shade each scored two goals, while Hewitt Farr produced four points on three assists and a goal. Robert Kokal added a goal.

Goalkeeper Peyton Mooney registered nine saves protecting BC's net.

McKaig opened the game's scoring just 2:09 into the contest on a goal set up by one of Farr's three assists.  Pfeiffer responded with three consecutive goals over the next three minutes to take a 3-1 lead.

McKaig and Pratt then both scored unassisted goals to tie the contest up with just over eight minutes to play in the opening stanza.  However, the Falcons scored on back-to-back opportunities to take a 5-3 lead into the end of the first quarter.

The Tornados outscored the Falcons 5-4 in the second quarter as Shade, Kokal, Pratt, and McKaig (twice) all found the back of the net in the stanza.

Leading 9-8 at halftime, Pfeiffer added two more goals early in the third quarter until Shade's second goal made the score 11-9.  The Falcons then reeled off three straight goals from the end of third through the 6:47 mark of the fourth period. Farr would score on an assist by Sam Duffie with 4:25 to play and McKaig scored again in the waning minutes, but the Falcon lead proved too much to overcome.

The two teams were virtually even in ground balls (BC 43, PC 42), while Pfeiffer committed five more turnovers than the Tornados.  The Falcons were able to win seven more faceoffs.

Brevard returns to action with a non-conference game vs. Ohio Northern set for Saturday, March 9 at 11 a.m. at Ives-Lemel Field.  USA South Conference play resumes the following week with a trip to Methodist on Saturday, March 16 at 2 p.m.
