Tornados Host Randolph on Saturday

BREVARD, N.C. – After posting a decisive 18-5 victory over Emmanuel on Wednesday afternoon, the Brevard men's lacrosse team looks to build on that momentum when it faces Randolph College on Saturday at 5 p.m. at Ives-Lemel Field.

In Wednesday's win over the Lions, Jackson McKaig netted eight goals, Kyle Hunziker added four and Hewitt Farr emerged with three goals as the Tornados put together a dominating performance. McKaig capped off the game with 12 points as he handed out four assists to go along with his game-high eight goals. Hunziker closely followed with eight points and was responsible for four assists and four goals.

Farr, who closed with three points on the afternoon, and David Buono (one goal, one assist) also had multiple points for the Tornados, who moved to 2-1 on the season with the win. Brevard finished with 47 shots on the contest.

The contest marks the season opener for Randolph, who finished 5-12 in 2017. The Wildcats finished with wins against Virginia Wesleyan (16-9), Greensboro (17-6), Centre (10-9), Oglethorpe (16-4) and St. Mary's (Md.) (11-6) a season ago.

Randolph will be looking to replace its top five goal scorers from 2017 with the departure of Graham Southwick (26 goals), Shane Soghomonian (24), Mitch MacDonald (23), Ryan Campbell (21) and Scott Wilkinson (15).
