Brevard College senior student-athletes Austin Fisher and Thibault Tranchant wrapped up their collegiate careers at the USA South Men’s Golf Championships at the Highland Country Club in LaGrange, Georgia.
Fisher earned a hard-fought top-10 finish amongst some of the stiffest competition in all of the NCAA DIII ranks. The Hendersonville, N.C. native finished tied for seventh place after a scoring an even-par, 216 for the tournament. Fisher shot a 77 (+5) on the tournament’s final day after ending the first round tied for first place and completing action on the second day tied for third.
Tranchant shot his best round of the tournament on the final day, carding a 76 (+4) to move himself up seven spots into a tie for 39th.

Fisher, along with teammate Thibault Tranchant, is representing Brevard College at the tournament, competing individually.
Fisher built on an impressive first day by shooting an even-par 72 in the second round of action. The Hendersonville, N.C. native birdied five holes on Friday en route to sitting in third place heading into the final day of play.
The USA South Conference has released its Men’s Golf postseason awards, pegging seniors Austin Fisher and Thibault Tranchant as All-Conference and All-Sportsmanship honorees
Fisher, a senior from nearby Hendersonville, N.C., was named a USA South Men’s Golf All-Conference Honorable Mention after a stellar 2018-19 campaign that includes six top-10 finishes and two tournament wins at Broadmoor Golf Links in Fletcher, N.C.
Tranchant, a senior from Fontainebleau, France, was named BC’s selection on the All-Sportsmanship team. Tranchant’s 2018-19 season was highlighted by a third-place finish at the Cavalier Spring Invitational at Broadmoor Golf Links in Fletcher, N.C.
Following the completion of the first day of action at the 2019 USA South Men’s Golf Championships at the Highland Country Club in LaGrange, Georgia, Brevard College senior Austin Fisher sits tied for first place overall. Fisher is tied with Drew Mathers, who is ranked number four nationally amongst NCAA DIII golfers by Golfstat, after firing an impressive first-round 67 (-5).
Fisher parred the first two holes before stepping into the tee box on the par-5, 511-yard third hole, where he recorded the first of his seven birdies on the morning.
Senior Brevard College Men’s Golf standout Austin Fisher has been selected to represent the Brevard College Tornados in the 2019 USA South Conference Men’s Golf Championships, held at the Highland Country Club in LaGrange, Georgia. The three-round tournament is slated to begin on Thursday, April 25, and continue on Friday, April 26. The tournament will conclude on Saturday, April 27.
Fisher, a native of nearby Hendersonville, N.C., earned entry as the top-ranking golfer entering in the tournament as an individual. The event features the top-nine Conference teams, as well as the top three individuals, according to Golfstat rankings (as of April 17, 2019), from teams not qualifying for the league tournament. Fisher ranks 60th amongst all NCAA DIII golfers in Golfstat's statistical rankings.
Austin Fisher finished in a tie for fifth place, while Thibault Tranchant earned a tie for ninth as the Brevard College Tornados Men’s Golf team competed in the 27th annual Tusculum Men’s Golf Invitational over the weekend in Greenville, Tennessee.

Fisher finished play with a three-round score of 214 (-2) that earned him T-3rd overall, his third straight top-three finish.

The Brevard College Tornados Men's Golf team closed out its fall season at the Maryville College Invitational. The tournament was held at the Egwani Farms Golf Course in Rockford, Tenn. The course played at 6432 yards at Par 70.
