Tornado Men’s Golf Returns to Links

BREVARD, N.C. –
After a two-week layoff since its last outing at the J. Ralph Hargett Memorial Intercollegiate in Monroe, N.C., the Brevard men's golf team returns to the links on Tuesday to take part in the fifth annual Tennessee River Rumble in Harrogate, Tenn.

The two-day tournament, hosted by Lincoln Memorial, is being held at the Tennessee National Golf Club, a Greg Norman designed course that is a par 72 course that is approximately 7,400 yards in distance.

The Tornados were led in the last event by Austin Fisher, who finished the event in a three-way tie for ninth and earned his second top 10 finish of the spring. The other came when he finished second at the Mars Hill Invitational on Feb. 27.

The tournament consisted of 36 holes at the Monroe Country Club. Fisher carded a pair of 72's to close with a 144 (E) alongside Jordan Vogler and Dawson Walker of Lenoir-Rhyne and is seven strokes off the lead set by Wingate's Jarett Stowe who fired a 137 (-7).

The Tornados also received a solid performance from Calum McAndrew, who placed 28th. McAndrew emerged with scores of 75 and 77 for a score of eight over par.

Craig Stephen (76-78—154; +10) enjoyed the third best score for Brevard and was one of five players in 32nd place. The Tornados card also included performances by Hugo Herrera (80-80—160; +16) and Declan Addison (76-85—161; +17) who finished tied for 45th and 48th, respectively.

Brevard was seventh in the team rankings with a 606 (299-307; +30), which was won by Lenoir-Rhyne with a 572 (288-284; -4).
