Stephen, Fisher lead Brevard at South/Southeast Region Preview Tournament

CONOVER, N.C.- Brevard men's golf finished 15th at the South/Southeast Region Preview hosted by King University, as they were led by Craig Stephen and Austin Fisher.

This was a two-day event held at the Rock Barn Country Club, where the par was set at 72 and the course was 7,169 yards.

Anderson Invitational champion Stephen finished tied for sixth with Evan Gfeller (North Greenville) and Wanjoo Lee (Coker), as he recorded a 143 (-1). This tournament was the first time this season Stephen finished under par. Fisher carded a 153 (+9) in the event, and finished tied for 55th.

Joining Stephen and Fisher from the Tornados were Thibault Tranchant (161, +17), Declan Addison (162, +18), and Hugo Herrara (171, +27).

Barton College won the event as a team, scoring a 572 (-4) in the tournament. Following them in second was Belmont Abbey (578, +2) and North Greenville in third (580, +4). Nick Stafford of Belmont Abbey won the individual title for the event, scoring a 136 (-8).

This event concluded the fall schedule for the Brevard men's golf team, as they will not return to action until March 5th, 2018, where they will partake in the Catawba Richard Rendleman Invitational.
