Tornados Wrap Up 2018-19 Campaign with Defeat at Huntingdon

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Brevard College Men's Basketball team (5-20, 2-16 USAS) wrapped up its 2018-19 season with a 73-60 road loss to USA South Conference foe Huntingdon (13-12, 10-8 USAS) on Saturday afternoon at the Roland Arena. 

Junior Levi Lamb led the Tornado with 15 points, scoring nine of his points in the second half. Demari Hopper scored 11 points with five rebounds, while Cannon Lamb also scored 11 points making 5-of-6 of his attempts at the free throw line.  Noah Lea led the Tornados on the glass with six rebounds to go along with seven points, all coming in the first half.

Senior Ke'Vel Kingsberry, the 2018-19 team's only senior, played in his final game in a Tornado uniform. Kingsberry scored six points and pulled down four rebounds in 20 minutes of game action. 

Huntingdon was led by Mykal Woods who came off the bench to score 11 points and pull down nine rebounds. 

The Tornados took a 5-0 lead to start the game and led 10-6 following a Levi Lamb made a 3-pointer with 14:36 to play in the first half. The lead went back and forth until HC went on a 12-0 run to end the opening stanza and take a 36-21 lead into the halftime locker room.

Hopper opened the second half with a layup off an assist by Levi Lamb to cut the deficit to 13. However, Huntingdon would regain control extending its lead to as many as 26 points with 7:48 to play. 

BC went on a late 7-0 run in the final minutes, but the deficit was too large to overcome.

The Tornados wrap up their 2018-19 with five total wins and two wins in USA South play.  Brevard defeated Averett 73-70 on Dec. 7 to go along with a thrilling 78-73 come-from-behind, overtime victory over Piedmont on Jan. 22.
