BREVARD, N.C. - The Brevard College Tornados Men's Basketball team (4-10, 1-6 USAS) look to get back in the win column on Wednesday evening as it faces the Berea College Mountaineers (7-8, 2-6 USAS). Tip-off is slated for a 7 p.m. start.

The Tornados are coming off of two home USA South Conference contests in the past week, as Brevard hosted Huntingdon College last Wednesday before battling Pfeiffer last Friday. BC fell in both contest at the Boshamer Gymnasium, as the Huntingdon Hawks defeated Brevard, 87-64, before Pfeiffer's high-powered offense triumphed, 100-80.

Brevard enjoyed success last season against Berea College, as the Tornados won both contests, securing their first-ever USA South sweep.

Messiah Pankey, a freshman guard hailing from Durham, N.C., has logged four starting appearances in the last two weeks for Brevard. Pankey has seen extended floor time, resulting in very efficient shooting. The Durham, N.C. product broke out for two double-digit scoring outputs against N.C. Wesleyan (10 points), and Huntingdon (14 points). Pankey shot an efficient 5-of-6, including 2-of-3 from long range against Huntingdon, followed up by a 3-of-4 performance at home against Pfeiffer.

Youth has played an increasingly large role for the Tornados, with fellow freshman Noah Lea, Malon Herron-Cuthbertson, and Joshua Wilson all seeing extended minutes for BC.

Efficient scoring will once again be key for Brevard as it travels to Berea. The Tornados rank fourth in the USA South in field goal percentage (46.7%).

After the Tornados and Mountaineers battle, Brevard will return home for a Saturday afternoon doubleheader against LaGrange College at the Boshamer Gymnasium. BC's men play at 2 p.m., followed by the women at 4 p.m.
