PFEIFFER VS BREVARD GAME NOTES

BREVARD, N.C. – The Brevard College Tornados Men's Basketball team (4-8, 1-4 USAS) returns to the Boshamer Gymnasium for two USA South Conference contests against Huntingdon College (6-6, 3-2 USAS) on Wednesday at 6 p.m. and Pfeiffer University (5-6, 0-4 USAS) on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

The Tornados will put their undefeated 3-0 record on the line this week in their first home contests since a December 7, 2018 conference victory over Averett University, 73-70.

In recent weeks, the Tornados offensive attack has been propelled by junior forward Levi Lamb. The Atlanta, Ga. native has posted double-digit scoring outputs in seven-straight outings, and in his last five games has averaged an astonishing 20.8 points-per-game, which swelled his season scoring average to a team-leading 17 points-per-game. This mark ranks Lamb sixth in the USA South individually alongside an efficient 54.1% field goal percentage which ranks 11th in the league.

As a team, Brevard continues its strong work defensively. The Tornados' 9.2 steals-per-game ranks third in the league, as Brevard has found success when causing havoc for opposing sides. BC's efficient shooting has been a hallmark in victories this season. Brevard ranks fourth in the USA South in field goal percentage (46.4%), and in its four victories in 2018-19, the Tornados have shot a very efficient 53.4% from the field.

Brevard will look to avenge last season's tightly-contested defeats against Huntingdon and Pfeiffer, as the Tornados fell by single-digits in both contests.

After the Tornados' two-game homestand, they hit the road once again to face Berea College on Wednesday, January 16 at 7 p.m. Brevard returns home to host LaGrange in doubleheader action on Saturday, January 19. The Men's team tips at 2 p.m. followed by the Women's squad at 4 p.m.
