Brevard Closes Out Season at Covenant

BREVARD, N.C.- Brevard will look to end their season on a high note, as the team will travel to Lookout Mountain, Ga., for a rematch with Covenant on Tuesday night.

In the previous meeting between the two teams, Covenant came to Boshamer Gymnasium on Dec. 16th, 2017 and beat Brevard 83-69. In the game, sophomore guard JaMarquis Johnson led all scorers while also recording his season-high in points by tallying 24 on 7-of-16 (43.8%) shooting and three 3-pointers.

Brevard (4-17) will conclude their first season of playing USA South Conference opponents before becoming a full-time member of the conference in the 2018-19 school year. All four of the Tornados victories have come against USA South teams, with their most recent win coming in a thrilling, buzzer-beater finish against N.C. Wesleyan on Jan. 21st.

On the season Brevard has three players averaging double figure scoring, led by Johnson with 14.4 points per game. He is followed by senior Stevie Williams (12.8) and sophomore Levi Lamb (12). 

Covenant (15-8) heads into the game riding a seven-game winning streak, with their most recent victory coming in a 76-64 contest against Ferrum. The Scots are led offensively by Caleb Haynes and Berto Dryden, scoring 15.3 and 15.2 points per game, respectively.

Tipoff from Lookout Mountain, Ga. is set for 7:30 p.m.
