Tornados Host LaGrange Wednesday

BREVARD, N.C. – The Brevard men's basketball team returns to the court on Wednesday when it welcomes LaGrange to Boshamer Gym at 3 p.m., its last contest before the holidays.

Brevard (1-6) is looking to halt a two-game losing streak and pick up its first win at home this season. The Tornados are led offensively by the trio of JaMarquis Johnson (105 points), Stevie Williams (94) and Divese Carson (85).

Johnson became the first Tornado to top 100 points on the season after combining for 38 points against Covenant and Methodist over the weekend. He was successful on 12-of-24 (50%) of his field goal attempts, knocking down 9-of-13 (69.2%) from 3-point range.

Williams has not only made an impact by hitting 32-of-85 from the floor and 6-of-28 from beyond the arc for Brevard, but he has also handed out a team-high 20 assists. Carson is making his mark on the lineup by ranking second in 3-point field goals (16) and second in field goal percentage (44.4) by hitting 28-of-63 attempts.

LaGrange (3-4) has split its two contests in December, opening the month with a 97-90 win over Berea on Saturday, Dec. 15. The Panthers followed that outing with an 86-56 setback to Maryville, struggling to find their range as they hit only 21-of-61 (34.4%) from the floor and 4-of-23 (17.4%) from beyond the arc.

Individually the Panthers are led by the trio of Alex Bonner (20.6 ppg), Jamison McCray (14.4) and Travis Thompson (14.0). Bonner, who has converted 36-of-66 (54.5%) from the field, also ranks second on the team in rebounds (30), climbing the class for 12 offensive boards.
