Garrett Kruczek, a Winter Park, Florida native, hails from a distinguished football lineage. He was installed as the Brevard College Quarterbacks Coach in August of 2018 and enters his second season coaching the quarterbacks in 2019.

Following his senior campaign at Lake Howell High School, Kruczek participated in the 2013 Central Florida All-Star Game. His finish of 11 attempts and 9 completions garnered him the MVP title for the East squad. He went on to compete at Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Wesson, Mississippi. Kruczek completed 62 percent of his passes, going 202 of 326, and massing 2,336 yards with 16 touchdowns in the ultra-competitive Mississippi Junior College ranks. Most notably during his time at Co-Lin, he helped defeat then number one ranked East Mississippi Junior College in 2015, snapping their 25-game winning streak, a feat well documented in the Netflix reality show, Last Chance U.

Garrett Kruczek was tutored by his father, longtime collegiate and professional coach Mike Kruczek, a former Boston College All-America and NFL quarterback. As a young player, he was classically trained as a three-step, five-step, and seven-step drop-back passer from under center, but he was also exposed to spread Oregon Duck concepts coordinated by Scott Frost while at Co-Lin. When Frost left the Pacific Northwest for the head coaching position at Central Florida, Kruczek opted to walk-on in his hometown and played in the up-tempo offense that helped turn around the Golden Knights program. He finished his playing career at Eastern Kentucky University and graduated with a degree in criminal justice from EKU in May of 2018.

In a coincidental note, Mike Kruczek coached at the University of Central Florida from 1985-2003 while current Tornado women's soccer coach, Juan Mascaro, was part of the same athletic department. After being named head coach of UCF from 1998-2003, Mike Kruczek went on to serve on Denny Green’s Arizona Cardinals staff as quarterbacks coach alongside Bill Khayat and Everett Lindsay from 2004-2006. When Green made the transition to the now defunct Sacramento Mountains Lions of the UFL in 2010, he reassembled some of his Cardinals coaching staff including Khayat and Kruczek. He also hired Kurt Gouveia, the former Tornados defensive coordinator.
