Brevard’s Jaxon Youngblood Selected to D3football.com Team of the Week

OFFICIAL D3FOOTBALL.COM RELEASE

BREVARD, N.C. - Brevard College Tornados Football freshman punter Jaxon Youngblood has been selected to D3football.com's "Team of the Week," presented by Scoutware. The honor coincides with Youngblood also earning this week's USA South Conference Football Special Teams Player of the Week award.

Youngblood becomes the second Brevard player this season to be chosen to D3football.com's Team of the Week, as the freshman joins teammate Quentin Jackson, who was selected to the honor last week.

A native of Greer, S.C., Youngblood helped the Tornados flip field position and pin the Allen University Yellow Jackets deep on multiple occasions in last Saturday's big 40-9 victory. Youngblood booted five punts for 228 yards, which equated an average of 45.6 yards-per-punt. He pinned Allen University inside the 20-yard line three times and launched a new career-best 56-yard punt.

With the selection, he becomes only the third Brevard College Football player to receive this weekly national honor since BC announced its transition to NCAA DIII – the first being BC alumnus Tyler Gregory back in the 2017 season, while Jackson's selection became the second.

Brevard College returns home and sets its sights on Homecoming 2019 this coming week, as the Tornados football team kicks off conference play on Saturday, October 5 vs. defending USA South Conference champion Maryville College. Kickoff is slated for 3 p.m. at Brevard Memorial Stadium.
