BREVARD, N.C. – In a rematch of last year's season-finale in which the Brevard College Tornados football team claimed a 46-10 victory, Brevard (1-0) heads on the road for the first time this season with a matchup at the Allen University Yellow Jackets (1-1) on Saturday evening in Columba, S.C. Kickoff time is scheduled for 5 p.m.

Live statistics will be available on www.bctornados.com on the road courtesy of the Brevard College Sports Information office, while live updates will be posted at @BCTornados on Twitter.

Brevard College football will also be featured as the USA South Conference's "Instagram Takeover" over the weekend. The USA South's Instagram Takeover initiative allows certain teams the opportunity to share their experiences, through pictures and videos, while competing away from their respective campuses. The Tornados hit the road following a monumental 27-6 victory over NCAA DIII perennial power Christopher Newport last Saturday at Brevard Memorial Stadium. Brevard scored 27 unanswered points in the second half, while Brevard's defense held the Captains scoreless in the second half to secure the victory.

Brevard received national acclaim following its victory last Saturday, as junior defensive back Quentin Jackson was named to D3football.com's "Team of the Week," presented by Scoutware. The honor came after Jackson helped lead BC's strong defensive effort with six total tackles, a tackle-for-loss, and an interception.

Several other Tornados enjoyed standout performances versus the Captains. Junior Steffon Canady and sophomore Chris Diaz collected eight tackles apiece to lead BC. Canady's debut as a Tornado was a highly successful one, as the newcomer from Glendale, Ariz. tallied two sacks, 2.5 tackles-for-loss, and a forced fumble. Diaz, a returning sophomore from Bethesda, Md., reached the quarterback once, had 1.5 tackles-for-loss and collected two quarterback hurries.

Brevard's ball-hawking secondary picked off the CNU quarterback duo of Jack Anderson and Brock Carnes three times, as junior defensive backs Jackson and Wesley Ross – along with freshman Antonio Williams Jr. – snagged interceptions for the Tornados.

Dalton Cole, a sophomore quarterback from Hendersonville, N.C. finished last Saturday's game with 181 yards passing on 10-of-18 and a touchdown. More impressive was Cole's phenomenal work on the ground rushing the ball, where the 2018 USA South Offensive Rookie of the Year ran for a career-high 100 yards on 16 carries, adding two more touchdowns to his ledger.

Allen currently sits at 1-1 on the 2019 season following a 2-6 campaign last year in Allen's first year having football on campus. The NAIA member-institution enjoyed a season-opening victory two weekends ago in front of its home crowd vs. NCAA DII Clark Atlanta University, 16-10 before falling to NCAA DII Livingstone, 21-7 last Saturday. The Yellow Jackets are led by second-year Head Coach Teddy Keaton.

Following Saturday's matchup, the Tornados will return home on Saturday, October 5 to open USA South play against the defending USA South Football champion Maryville College Scots (0-3). Kickoff is slated for 3 p.m. at Brevard Memorial Stadium.

Next Saturday's game marks Brevard's homecoming game, part of three days of homecoming festivities on the campus of Brevard College. For a full list of homecoming events, please click here.
