HUNTINGDON, Ala.– Freshman quarterback Dalton Cole recorded 299 yards with 32 completions on 43 attempts (74% completion pct.) and a touchdown to highlight Brevard College (1-4, 1-2) in its loss to Huntingdon College (1-4, 1-1) Saturday at Samford Stadium in Montgomery, Ala. It marked the second straight season that the Tornados fell to the Hawks.

The day started off promising for the Tornados as BC's defense showed out early.  Chris Diaz forced a fumble that was recovered by Dante Anderson for a touchback, setting up BC at its own 25-yard line. On the ensuing possession, Brevard drove 65 yards into the red zone. However, momentum was shifted when Tyler Gregory was stripped by Huntingdon's Dylan Powell, forcing a fumble and giving Huntingdon the momentum shift they needed to pull away.

The Hawks went on to score 21 unanswered points, as two Brevard drives would stall. The Tornados finally found the end zone when Cole connected with Gregory for a 21-yard strike to cut the Huntingdon lead to 21-7.

Huntingdon then took advantage of great starting field position, running the two-minute drill to perfection to take a 28-7 lead into the intermission.

Momentum shifted even further in the direction of Huntingdon on the first drive of the second half. Cole threw an interception to Huntingdon's Trevor Henson, setting up the Hawks in the red zone. The Hawks would score again, extending their lead to 35-7.

The two teams traded field goals on their next two possessions, as Brevard's Jose Flores knocked in a 30-yard field goal after a lengthy 13-play, 70-yard BC drive.

Huntingdon went on to add some insurance to its lead, scoring back to back touchdowns to solidify the home team's advantage at 52-10.

BC sophomore Jacob Gravett saw action late in this game. He recorded 61 yards, including a 35-yard touchdown strike to Brandon Norris, bringing the game to the final score of 52-17

Huntingdon's main advantage was on the ground, as the Hawks outgained the Tornados by a whopping 308-79 margin. Penalties proved costly for BC, as ten infractions totaled 92 yards penalized.

Gregory finished with a team-high nine catches for 90 yards and a touchdown. Ralph Roman III added six catches for a career-high 69 yards in a Tornado uniform. Norris added four catches to the BC aerial attack, recording 61 yards and a touchdown. Senior wide receiver Bubba Craven inched closer to the Brevard College all-time NCAA-Era career record for receiving yards, as he sits just 112 yards away from the etching his name in the Brevard College record books.

The Tornados return home for a pair of consecutive home contests. BC will square off with N.C. Wesleyan on Saturday, Oct. 20 at 1 p.m. before matching up with LaGrange on Saturday, Oct. 27 at 2 p.m. Both games are slated to take place at Brevard Memorial Stadium.
