Cycling Concludes First Day of SECCC Championships

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Brevard cycling team brought home a pair of top 10 finishes in the road race competition of the Southeastern Collegiate Cycling Conference Championships held at Clemson on Saturday afternoon.

The Tornados Hannah Arensman, competing in the Women's A group, crossed the line in seventh. It is the second competition for Arensman this spring, who placed sixth in an event held at Appalachian State last weekend, after representing Brevard at the 2018 UCI Cyclocross Women's U23 World Championships in the Netherlands.

Janelle Cole, also taking part in the Women's A group competition, was one spot behind her teammate in eighth. Cole last took part in a race in March, at Milligan, where she reached the podium after battling through difficult conditions to finish third in the Women's A group road race.

The event concludes on Sunday with the Criterium Race taking place in Clemson. For more information on Brevard cycling check out www.bctornados.com.
