BREVARD, N.C. – Members of the Brevard cycling team will head to Boone, N.C., this weekend to participate in an event hosted by Appalachian State.

It marks the second race of the spring season for the Tornados. Among the Brevard riders participating in the group A events are Hannah Arensman and Scott McGill.

The Brevard cycling team wrapped up its first race of the spring at Milligan College on March 26.

Two Tornado cyclists, Janelle Cole and Zachary Lowden, battled through high winds, freezing temperatures and rain to reach the podium at the conclusion of the race.

Cole placed third in the Group A women's road race, while Lowden grabbed his first collegiate win in the Group B men's road race.
