Brevard College Baseball Spreads Holiday Cheer

Phil de Montmollin: Sports Information Director

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – In anticipation of the Christmas holiday, the Brevard College Baseball team gave back to the community with an annual tradition to support those who are fighting cancer.

The Tornados baseball team made its annual trip to the Mission Health SECU Cancer Center where the student-athletes decorated the unit with festive Christmas decorations.  In addition to spreading holiday cheer with the Christmas decorations, the BC baseball team delivered gifts to the pediatric center.

The annual day of Christmas decoration at the SECU Cancer Center is part of the team's year-round mission to raise funds and awareness for cancer research and treatment.

In another Christmas related project, the Brevard College baseball team packed and shipped shoebox gifts during national Collection Week for the Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child program.  The shoebox gifts are distributed to underprivileged children around the world who otherwise would be without a Christmas gift.

Brevard College Baseball begins its 2019 season with a four-game series, February 8-10 at William Peace University in Raleigh, N.C.  The home opener for the Tornados is set for Wednesday, February 13 at 2 p.m. vs. Montreat at Gil Coan Field.
