Brevard Looks to Sweep Montreat

BREVARD, N.C.- Looking to bounce back from the sweep from Pfeiffer, Brevard goes on the road to take on Montreat in the first matchup between the two teams since the Tornado's comeback win on March 21.

LAST MEETING

Brevard trailed by as many as eight runs and was behind 9-5 heading into the bottom of the ninth inning when the Tornados completed an epic rally to knock off the Cavaliers 10-9 on March 21. Joseph Nelms delivered the walk-off RBI, which was the third win of the season that came virtue of a walk-off hit for Brevard this season.

OFFENSIVE PRODUCTION ON THE RISE

Over the last 10 contests Brevard has averaged 5.6 runs per game, which doubles the average runs scored through the first 16 games for the Tornados. The trio of Ryan Roon, Beau Shealy and Jadon Wooten have eached logged at least 20 hits this season, while Shealy ranks in the top 15 in the USA South Conference with a .347 batting average.

SENIOR PITCHERS CONTINUE STRONG SEASON

With his five strikeouts in the third game against Pfeiffer last weekend, Drake Black continues to lead the NCAA Division III ranks with total strikeouts (79) and complete games (seven). Not far behind Black is Tyler Timms, who also ranks in the top 20 across Division III with 53 K's on the mound.

 

First pitch between the Cavs and the Tornados is set to be thrown at 3 p.m. today.
