Nichole LaFortune begins her first year as a member of the Brevard College sports medicine staff, serving as an Assistant Athletic Trainer.  She will be working with men's soccer, volleyball, softball, as well as men's and women's Tennis. 

Originally from Rockville, Virginia, LaFortune completed her bachelor of science degree in athletic training from James Madison in 2015. In this role she administered therapeutic modalities, performed lower extremity and upper extremity evaluation of injuries and designed various rehabilitation programs. 

LaFortune’s most recent experience in collegiate athletics came at Georgia Southern, where she completed her master’s degree in kinesiology. As a graduate assistant she provided health care to student athletes on the football, rifle, women's soccer and baseball teams. After communicating the injury reports and status of student athletes to coaches, physicians and supervisors she designed injury prevention and rehabilitation programs for individuals. She also served as a preceptor for the Georgia Southern Athletic Training Program, supervising athletic training students during their clinical rotations. 

LaFortune is a member of the National Athletic Trainer’s Association, Southeast Athletic Trainer’s Association and Mid-Atlantic Trainer’s Association. Additionally she is a board certified athletic trainer and is American Red Cross certified in CPR / AED.
