School-Record 129 Tornados Named Academic All-Conference
BREVARD, N.C. – A school-record 129 Brevard College student-athletes have been named 2020-21 USA South Academic All-Conference selections. A total of 32 BC student-athletes also earned "With Distinction" honors for superior academic achievement.
The 129 Academic All-Conference selections breaks the previous record of 112 honorees set in the 2019-20 academic year.
For the second straight season, the BC men's soccer program claimed the college's most selections onto the Academic All-Conference team with 16 honorees. The Brevard College Cycling team totaled 15 selections with a school-best five student-athletes earning "With Distinction" honors. The Tornado Baseball team also registered 15 honorees, four of whom were "With Distinction". The BC Women's Soccer team tallied 14 total selections with four student-athletes honored as "With Distinction". In total, 18 Brevard College sports were represented on the USA South Academic All-Conference team.
In order to be selected to the USA South Academic All-Conference team, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.30 GPA in each of the two semesters in the academic year to be eligible. Any student-athlete participating at any Conference institution is eligible thus the participant does not have to compete in a Conference-sponsored sport. Additionally, any student-athlete earning a 3.90 GPA or above earned the All-Academic honor "With Distinction".
